According to our assessment, you can understand spoken and written French at A1 level, but you need to cover grammar rules from mid-A1, including a review of phonetics and pronunciation.
For group classes, you can start from A1 level.

What happens during the test?
You meet one of our teachers on a live video call, at a time that suits you. The questions start simple and get harder step by step, across all four skills and grammar, until they become too difficult. Where that happens shows your real level, measured rather than guessed.
I’ve never studied French. Should I take it?

I took the TCF or TEF before. Is this still useful?
